In response to new UK Government legislation, we’re introducing a weekly food waste recycling service across the borough to help reduce waste and tackle climate change.
Starting this autumn, households will begin receiving food waste caddies, bins, and weekly collections to separate food waste from general rubbish and recycling bins. By recycling food waste, residents will help cut carbon emissions and save money.
This new service will be rolled out in three phases, and you will receive information when collections are due to begin in your area.
Timeline:
- Phase 1 – November 2025: 10% of the borough, both street-level properties and flats
- Phase 2 – Autumn 2026: All remaining street-level properties
- Phase 3 – Spring 2027: All remaining flats and flats above shops
