The cost of a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) is discounted if you pay within:
- 14 days of it being issued
or
- 21 days of it being issued for parking PCNs that are issued by a CCTV camera operator
Once the full PCN amount is paid, the matter will be closed.
Online
You will need:
- the PCN number (find this on the Penalty Charge Notice or letter)
- the vehicle registration (number plate)
- a valid debit or credit card (American Express and Diners cards are not accepted)
The balance displayed on the online payment system may take up to to 24 hours to update after a payment is made. This may take longer at weekends.
Automated telephone payments for Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are no longer available.
If you are unable to pay online, use one of the following methods:

You will need:
- the barcode on the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) or letter
- cash, credit or debit card

You will need:

- the vehicle registration (number plate)
How to pay by post:
- Make a cheque, postal order or bankers draft payable to ‘London Borough of Newham’. Do not send cash in the post. If the cheque ‘bounces’, the Penalty Charge Notice will remain unpaid and you may have to pay the higher amount.
- Write the PCN number and the vehicle registration on the back of the cheque, postal order or bankers draft.
