Why a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) has been issued
A Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) is a legal document issued when a vehicle has been seen in contravention of a parking or traffic restriction (breaching a parking or driving rule).
Types of Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and what they mean
There are four types of Penalty Charge Notice (PCN):
- Parking PCNs issued by a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO)
- Parking PCNs issued by CCTV
- Bus Lane PCNs
- Moving Traffic PCNs
On the PCN or letter there will be a contravention code that states the reason the PCN has been issued.
1. Parking Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued by a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO)
