Black History Month

A month of poetry, talks, film screenings, exhibitions, oral history, singing and author events to explore in Black History Month.

Black History Month Newham

With over 50 events planned for Black History Month there is something for every taste. Alongside our public events we are running a number of schools events, and all 10 of Newham’s libraries will feature a range of Black History focused books, highlighting local black writers and writing.

The programme will be an exploration of the meaning of Black History Month and help to inform and shape future programmes, ensuring there is a genuine reflection Newham’s black communities. Join us at events and tell us how you would like us to remember, celebrate, and recognise future Black History Months.
