Burial records

We are required by law to keep records of everyone who is buried at West Ham Cemetery.

Records held at West Ham Cemetery

We hold the following records:
  • Alpha Books - an alphabetical record of the surnames and then first names of all those buried
  • Private grave registers - details of grave owners (reservees) and persons buried in each grave
  • Burial registers - a record of burials in date order
  • War grave records - an alphabetical record of members of the armed forces who died during both World Wars.

Deceased online

West Ham Cemetery burial records are now available on a specialist family history website called Deceased Online.

We have placed records of 180,000 burials from our over 150 year history on the site. It is the UK's only central website for these statutory records.
