Request a copy of a certificate

Please note that no collection service is available and all certificates will be by post only.  

You can apply for copies of official birth, marriage and death certificates from the Newham Register Office by applying online only. We do not accept applications in person at the office or by post. 

Before you apply 

Information you need for birth certificates 

You must know the:  

  • Name and surname (and any other names used) at the time of birth 
  • Date and place of birth 
  • Parents' full names 
  • Mother's maiden name. 

Information you need for death certificates 

You must know the: 

  • Name and surname (and any other names used) at the time of death 
  • Date and place of death. 

Information you need for marriage certificates 

You must know the: 

  • Name and surname (and any other names used) at the time of marriage 
  • Maiden name of the bride 
  • Date of marriage 
  • Name of place of marriage (register office, church).
