There are a range of grants and funding opportunities Newham residents can apply for to get community projects and initiatives off the ground. Or if you’re a registered Community Interest Company CIC/charity you can get help with the running of existing projects in Newham. Please review our Funding for community projects page. This outlines some of the projects funded at local level but also allows you to sign up for Newham 4 Community which is a website where you can search for funding that’s a right fit for your organisation.

List of Large Grant Scheme recipients

The grants have been awarded in order to provide organisations with both capital and revenue funding for initiatives to help boost local economic activity. Click here to read more about Large Grant Schemes. 

Royal Docks Good Growth Fund

The Royal Docks Good Growth Fund is a new £13 million programme that will support a broad range of projects that can help to transform the Royal Docks. The fund will support inclusive, innovative projects and tackle some of the challenges facing the Royal Docks. It will also seek to support local economic activity, create new jobs and workplaces, and ensure these opportunities are accessible to the whole community.

This programme has potential capital grants of up to £3 million to deliver place shaping and development projects.

Applicants are required to provide at least 50% match funding.

Applicants must either be based in the Royal Docks or their activity must demonstrably benefit the Royal Docks area.

Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund

The Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund is an ambitious five-year programme that aims to invest £10 million into the local communities of Newham and neighbouring boroughs upported by retail destination Westfield Stratford City.

All current year 3 grant programmes have closed, however, we would strongly encourage you to sign up for their newsletter to get a notification for when Year 4 grant schemes open for applications.
