Supporting the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) Sector in Newham

Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector Infrastructure Support

Newham Council funds borough‑wide VCFSE Infrastructure Support to help voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations in Newham to strengthen how they operate, work together and plan for the future.

This support helps organisations build capacity, improve sustainability and connect with others across the sector, so they are better placed to support Newham residents.

Who delivers the Infrastructure support

The service is delivered through a partnership between two established local organisations:

One Newham
A network of voluntary, community and faith organisations in Newham that supports collaboration, shared learning and sector engagement at a borough‑wide level. One Newham brings organisations together and helps ensure the sector has a collective voice in local partnerships. Its board is made up entirely of trustees from Newham‑based voluntary and community organisations.

Aston Mansfield
A charitable organisation providing specialist organisational development support. Aston Mansfield supports organisations with governance, fundraising, financial management and long‑term sustainability, including through its Fitter Finances – Investing in Health programme, with a strong focus on smaller, grassroots and Global Majority‑led organisations.

Together, One Newham and Aston Mansfield deliver a joined‑up infrastructure service that combines sector coordination and collaboration with practical organisational development and financial resilience support.
