Steps to staying safe online
If you believe your personal data has been breached, consider taking the following steps:
- Be Wary of Scams
Cybercriminals may use breached information to send convincing phishing emails, text messages, or phone calls. Be cautious about unexpected requests for personal information or payments. - Check What Data Was Affected
Review any communications from the organisation involved to understand what information may have been exposed and what actions they recommend you undertake. - Never disclose passwords, verifications codes or financial information in response to any unsolicited communications
