If you receive a message about your Council Tax account and want to check that it is genuine:
Text message
Our text messages will:
- show as LB Newham
- contain a link beginning with https://email.newham.gov.uk
- ask you to confirm your postcode before displaying account information
Emails
Our emails will:
- be sent from ctax@email.newham.gov.uk
- explain why we have contacted you and how to make a payment
Phone calls
If we contact you by phone, our officer will:
- explain the reason for the call
- be able to discuss your Council Tax account
- never ask for your bank account password or online banking credentials
