Newham Council is committed to building a fairer borough, with people at the heart of everything we do. A key part of this commitment is ensuring that our workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve and that all employees are treated fairly and equitably.
This page presents our 2025 Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap Report. It provides an overview of pay differences across our workforce and helps us understand where inequalities may exist. By analysing this data, we can identify barriers, take informed action, and continue working towards a more inclusive workplace.
Reporting on gender pay gap data is a statutory requirement under the Equality Act 2010 for organisations with 250 or more employees. In addition, Newham Council voluntarily publishes ethnicity pay gap data to demonstrate transparency and leadership in promoting equality.
By sharing this information, we aim to be open and accountable, while reinforcing our commitment to reducing pay disparities and creating opportunities for all.
