Creating learning opportunities, skills and jobs of the future

Our Newham sparks Chapter one report highlights the clear data skills and education gap across the UK. We need to increase citizens’ skills and knowledge, so that people are ready for the jobs of tomorrow. In order to achieve this, a step change is needed in learning and education so that all citizens are ‘data literate’.  This ranges from young people gaining experiential learning opportunities in data and digital through to adults upskilling to access new career opportunities.

We are keen to work with organisations who are interested in developing new learning opportunities, innovating in the education space and working collaboratively across the education sector.

Our challenge questions

  • How could we create learning opportunities that increase data literacy and knowledge?
  • How could private companies and education bodies work together to close the data skills gap?
  • How could we create a data curriculum that delivers both vocational and academic education through a broad range of partners?
