Local history and archives

The Newham Heritage Service reading room will be closed to the public from September 2nd 2024 provisionally until January 2025. During this time we will continue to offer a remote research service wherever possible. To contact us with an enquiry please email archiveslocalstudies@newham.gov.uk with some information about what you are looking for.

The closure of our reading room is necessary in order to provide us with workspace for our expanded Heritage Service team in service of our NHLHF-funded project 'Where Newham's Past Meets Newham's Future: The Newham Heritage Centre'.
