Major road closures across Newham: Sunday 28 May 2023

Newham Council advises residents to check out the East London road closures as part of Ride London www.ridelondon.co.uk on Sunday 28 May.

East London Road Closures

Everyone who lives, works or is visiting East London on Sunday 28 May is urged to plan ahead, as there will be some disruption caused by road closures on many Newham roads, with some closures taking place from 4am on Sunday 28 May, to 8.00 pm on the same day.

The advice from Newham Council is to check out the road closures in advance by visiting: TFL Status updates page or Ride London's road closure page. 

Parking prohibited along the Ride London route.

The Council also advise that you should not park along the route all day on Sunday, 28 May, otherwise, your vehicle will be removed. 

What is Ride London?

RideLondon, the cycling festival, takes place from Friday 26 to Sunday, 28 May, 2022 across London.

On Sunday, 28 May, more than 100 miles of road closures will be in place throughout the day – significantly impacting central and east London – for the RideLondon-Essex 100, the mass participation ride featuring up to 25,000 cyclists. The riders will head out of London through Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest and Redbridge and then into Essex before returning to London for a stunning finish at Tower Bridge.
