Our Newham Futures Innovation Lab kick-started a series of mission workshops to develop a 10-year place vision for the borough to ensure of inclusive opportunity in the decade ahead.
Newham’s Mayor, Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, convened over 100 partners this morning (20 June 2025) from across the borough to launch the Our Newham Futures Innovation Lab, a determined partnership collaborating on the missions to secure the future sustainability of Newham.
Involving partners and stakeholders from across the diversity of Newham’s private, public, voluntary, community and faith sectors, Our Newham Futures Innovation Lab kick-started a series of mission workshops to develop a 10-year place vision for the borough to ensure of inclusive opportunity in the decade ahead.
Working with the Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP) at world renowned University College London (UCL), Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz OBE said: “Inspired conversations and dedicated hearts came together with purpose this morning for the first Our Newham Futures Innovation Lab, representing a powerful force for good. We know that our people are our brilliance, who’ll secure the future sustainability of our borough in the decade ahead.
Our collective challenge is to ensure that opportunities in Newham are felt by all our residents. That requires deeper and wider collaborations, and innovative thinking to break down barriers and overcome challenges as well. We want our collective actions to benefit everyone”.
Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz OBE added: “I’m thrilled to be working with Vice-Provost Professor Paola Lettieri again, alongside the UCL’s STEaPP Co-Design Lab team, who helped design an immersive and collaborative participatory approach to drive disruptive thinking that come the autumn lead to the launch of credible and actionable missions that are future focused and will benefit Newham residents and secure opportunity in the borough for all our communities."
