The Mayor of Newham has congratulated all the borough’s students receiving their results for A levels, T levels, and BTECs today.

Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, also thanked the teachers and staff who had done so much to prepare the borough’s young people for the next stage in their life journey.

She said: “Congratulations to all our incredible students across Newham receiving their A Level, T Level, BTEC and Level 3 VTQ results today! We know how hard you’ve worked, and we’re immensely proud of each and every one of you.

“A huge thank you also goes to the dedicated teachers, school staff, and families who’ve supported you every step of the way.

“If your results weren’t quite what you hoped for, please don’t worry - this is just one moment in your journey, and there are so many exciting opportunities ahead. Whether you're heading to university, starting work, or exploring other paths, Newham is here to support you.

“Enjoy today, celebrate your achievements, and remember: you’ve done brilliantly. We’re all really, really proud of you!”

The day started early for Cllr Sarah Ruiz, Cabinet Member for Children Services and Education, who attended Forest Gate’s St Bonaventure’s Sixth Form Centre to see the first young people collecting their results.

She said: “It’s always a pleasure to come to a school on results day and see how super excited the students are.

“It may be nerve-wracking and even heartbreaking but we want to assure everyone that if you didn’t get the grades you hoped for, it’s not the end of the world.

“From clearing to apprenticeships, or starting work, this is not the end but a new beginning and one that can lead exciting and unexpected paths.”

If you didn’t get the grades you hoped for or have decided not to go to university Newham Council can help.
