The project, stretching from Canning Town to Connaught Bridge, features 6km of new cycleway and footway improvements, new green spaces, over 180 new trees, and safer crossings.

Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz OBE said: “This new scheme is part of one of the most the most exciting and important redevelopment projects in London.

“Working with the Mayor of London we are building a genuine legacy in the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone which will bring inward investment, 60,000 news jobs and 25,500 new homes to the borough.

“On Saturday we unveil this beautiful new corridor, which will provide new public spaces, wider pavements, separated cycle lanes, better crossings and connections to local destinations, with much more more greenery and planting.

“These changes aim to create safe and attractive streets for everyone to enjoy, improving air quality, and encouraging people to be more active and healthier.

“And the project is already turning heads – The Royal Docks Corridor has already been short listed for the Landscape Institute Awards 2025 – so come on down and see what all the buzz is about!”

This family-friendly event showcases how the scheme was constructed using live demonstrations, models, videos and interactive exhibits.

Bring along the whole family to have fun:

  • Play with mini-diggers in a giant sand pit
  • Help with planting and mulching (shovels included!)
  • Watch a construction time-lapse video
  • See the skills of construction operatives while a giant digger picks up ducks from a paddling pool
  • Have your photo taken sitting in real construction equipment
  • Free high-vis vests and hard hats for kids
  • See a demonstration of how underground drainage works

This event is part of the Royal Docks Originals 2025, inspired by the theme of Metamorphosis: a celebration of transformation and journeys.
