Nominations are now open for the 2025 Newham Civic Awards, proudly sponsored by Berkeley, celebrating the remarkable individuals, groups, and organisations who make a real difference in the borough.

  • Live, work or learn in Newham? Nominate an inspiring individual or organisation who make an incredible impact in the borough 
  • Nominations opened from Monday 13 October and close on Sunday 16 November 2025 
  • Winners and their special guests will be honoured at the annual Awards Ceremony with the Mayor of Newham 

If you live, work or learn in Newham, you are invited to nominate those whose efforts, passion and community spirit help make Newham a better place for everyone. 

The Civic Awards recognise outstanding contributions across ten categories, from good neighbours and youth champions to creative innovators and community groups driving positive change. 

Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, said: “Every year, I’m inspired by the people and organisations whose kindness, innovation and commitment make Newham thrive. The Civic Awards are our chance to recognise and celebrate those unsung heroes who make such an incredible impact in their communities. Please take a few minutes to nominate someone special and help shine a light on what makes Newham so extraordinary.” 

Dean Summers, Berkeley Divisional Managing Director, St James said: “We are delighted to continue our sponsorship of these awards, recognising the exceptional people who make this borough so special and unique. There were some fantastic stories from both groups and individuals at this year’s event, which were truly inspiring. We are really looking forward to meeting and celebrating with all the participants in March.” 

Key dates for the 2025 Newham Civic Awards: 

  • Nominations open: From Monday 13 October 2025 

  • Deadline for entries: Sunday 16 November 2025 (23:59) 

  • Awards Ceremony: Wednesday 4 March 2026 at Old Stratford Town Hall 

The Awards include eight community categories plus two honours – Freedom of the Borough and Honorary Alderperson – the highest recognitions Newham can bestow.
