Newham Council would never ask for details in this way. If you are concerned about correspondence you receive purporting to be from the Council, especially if it asks you to provide personal details including bank details, you can should ring on 020 8430 2000 and speak to a member of the team, in this case the Council Tax team.

“Anyone who is concerned should get in touch with the Council.”

If you receive any calls, emails, text or social media messages claiming to be from the Council, check they are genuine before following any of the instructions.
