Newham will kick off the festive season in style with a Christmas lights switch-on event hosted by the Mayor of Newham Rokhsana Fiaz OBE on 1 December at Newham Town Hall East Ham, E6 from 4pm.
The Mayor will officially switch on the Christmas tree and high street lights and there will be a live stage with performances by local schools and other local talent, as well as an interactive story telling session and a craft making activity.
And right across Newham magical interactive events with live performances, Christmas lights offer a chance to shop and get into the spirit of the season - from 1 to 23 December.
Christmas Lights Switch On 2021 Newham Town Hall East Ham, E6 (outside at the car park)

Christmas tree and all high street lights to be switched on at same time. Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, The Mayor of Newham and Cllr Charlene McLean, Statutory Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Resident Engagement & Participation, will be switching on the Christmas lights at Newham Town Hall in East Ham on Wednesday 1st December. There will be a small live stage with performances by local schools and other local talent, as well as an interactive story telling session and a craft making activity. Confirmed acts so far: St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Choir.

Christmas Lights Switch On - Woodgrange Market Forest Gate E7

Christmas themed event planned with Woodgrange Market to coincide with Small Business Saturday, incorporating a lights switch on (lights in the trees and down the high street). Craft activities, choir, refreshments.
Christmas Market Event - Rathbone Market Square Canning Town, E16
Wednesday 8th December 2021, 16:00 – 18:30
Christmas themed outdoor event that showcases young peoples' talents (musical talent mainly) and local/micro businesses. There will be a few market stalls and a small live stage with performances by local schools and other local talent. Confirmed acts so far: Newham Music's Senior Orchestra, Star Primary School Glee Choir, St Helen's Catholic Primary School, Rokeby Secondary School Band, May. No Christmas tree lights switch on at the Rathbone Market event.

Community Christmas event in partnership with Stratford BID team and Newham’s Market Team. The aim is to have schools/adult choirs and local musicians performing on a stage outside the south entrance to the Stratford Shopping Centre.
