Have your say on crime

What are your thoughts on crime and anti-social behaviour in the borough?

Newham Council and partners want to hear from residents about their concerns for the Newham Crime and Community Safety Residents Survey.

The Newham Community Safety Partnership, which is working to cut incidents of crime and anti-social behaviour in the borough, is developing a new statutory three-year crime reduction strategy. Residents are being asked to give their views, which will be used to help shape the priorities to tackle the issues.

The strategy will set out how the Partnership, which includes the Council, Police, Probation service and other agencies, will reduce crime, disorder, substance misuse, anti-social behaviour and reoffending and also tackle hate crime and women’s safety issues.

Cllr James Beckles, Cabinet Member for Crime and Community Safety, said: “Crime is a blight on our society.  We want everyone living or coming to the borough to be safe and not have to face crime or antisocial behaviour. So we are asking residents to help us in our efforts to reduce crime and make Newham a place where they can live and walk the streets without fear.”

The survey is anonymous and takes approximately five minutes to complete. It is open to residents to provide comments until 31 March 2022. Go to: www.newhamco-create.co.uk/en/projects/newhamcrimesurvey
