Celebrate the Jubilee in style on Sunday June 5 by applying to the  Council’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Fund

Jubilee Grant Fund

Grants of up to £500 are available to help organise community based celebrations to mark the Royal jubilee during the Bank Holiday weekend of Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June.

As Queen Elizabeth II celebrates an unprecedented 70 years on the throne, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Fund will assist community groups top plan celebratory events. Applications to the fund are currently open and close on 31 March.

Those receiving a grant will also receive a waiver of all non-statutory fees and charges such as road closures, hire of council community venues and parks.

Events are set to be organised across Newham in community spaces, parks and streets and the council will be helping our residents celebrate the occasion. The Council is strongly urging residents to arrange such events on Sunday June 5 to minimise disruption to roads.

Newham Council Chief Executive Althea Loderick said: “After a very difficult two years, it’s great that the community can come together and celebrate the fantastic service that the Queen has given our country.   The Jubilee will provide a real moment of togetherness that we have lacked over recent times and I hope that groups come together and celebrate – but hurry, applications need to be made to the Jubilee Community Fund by the end of the month.”

To apply for a grant visit the Newham Council website at The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Fund – Funding for community projects – Newham Council where you can download an application form.

The application form should then to be e mailed to communitygrants@newham.gov.uk
