ASB Case Review

We are well aware that where anti-social behaviour is not dealt with effectively it can have a significant impact on victims and, in some cases, on the wider community.

The ASB Case Review allows you to ask the Community Safety Partnership to review the response to your complaints of anti-social behaviour where you feel they have not been dealt with effectively.

What is the ASB Case Review?

The ‘ASB Case Review’ (previously known as the ‘Community Trigger’) was introduced in 2014 to offer victims of persistent anti-social behaviour the right to request a review of their case.

The ASB Case Review does not replace the complaints procedures of the council or other community safety partners. It also does not affect your right to complain to the Local Government Ombudsman or Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Who can request an ASB Case Review?

You can ask for a review for yourself, a community group or business. Your MP, local Councillor, or someone you nominate such as a friend or carer, could also ask for a review on your behalf.

You cannot use the ASB Case Review anonymously.

When can you request an ASB Case Review?

In order to request the anti-social behaviour case review, you must have;

a) Reported ASB to the Council, Police and/or a Registered Housing Provider three times about separate incidents in the last six months and no effective action has been taken, or
b) Reported one hate crime incident within the last 6 months where no effective action has been taken

Each report must have been made to either the Council, Police, or Registered Housing Provider within one month of it taking place and all incidents reported must have taken place in the last 6 months.
