MOT testing

Where do I need to go for the MOT?

Please use the Jenkins Lane entrance:

If you are coming to collect your car on foot or by bus, please use the Folkestone Road entrance:

The number 300 bus, which goes to East Ham Station stops outside the London Borough of Newham Central depot at the Folkestone Road entrance.  

What to do before the test 

Before the MOT please check: 

  • Your tyres are correctly inflated and meet the requirements set by law 
  • All your lights are working 
  • Your windscreen does not have any chips or cracks within the area swept by the wipers 
  • The wipers are not worn. 

What happens after the test 

If your vehicle passes the MOT test, you will be given an MOT certificate which will be valid for up to 13 months from the date of issue. 

If your vehicle does not pass, you will be given a record sheet containing details of the faults, which will have to be repaired for the re-test.
