Young people get career guidance and support
Newham’s Forest Gate Youth Zone launched a range of CV writing and interview workshops to help young people improve their job-seeking skills.
Careers events and workshops have offered support with job seeking and career guidance to more than 60 young people, aged between 14 and 19. This includes young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
A spokesperson said: “Young people said the emotional and practical support they have been given throughout the process has helped them to feel sufficiently empowered and confident to apply for jobs and attend interviews.
“The benefits to the young people included them learning essential CV and application writing skills, which has helped them in searching for a job and being interviewed. They also opened up to different ideas of what is possible for them and were inspired to pursue their choices.”
