Work Experience for Year 10 and 11 students
Are you in Year 10 or 11 and not quite sure what career path to take? That’s completely normal — and we are here to help. Work experience is a great way to try something new, build confidence, and get a taste of what working in local government is really like. You will discover how rewarding it can be to help your community while learning skills for the future.
If you’re interested, speak to the work experience co-ordinator at your school they’ll know what placements are available and how to get started
During your placement, you will begin to build key skills like:
· Talking and listening to others (communication)
· Using computers and technology
· Solving problems
· Working as part of a team
· Making food decisions
You’ll follow the normal working hours of the organisation and will need to bring your own lunch.
