Birth and death registration
You will need to arrange an appointment to register a birth or death. If you are registering a stillbirth, a walk-in service is available.
You will have to create a MyNewham account to be able to access the online appointment booking system.
Do not book an appointment to register a birth until you have received your child's discharge letter - without the discharge letter, the child cannot be registered by Newham's registration services.
You can find out more on our registering a birth, re-registering a birth, registering a death and stillbirth registration pages.

This service is for the issue of emergency burial certificates only. The service is usually available:
12 noon to 4pm on Saturday afternoons, and

You must then go to the East Ham Community Neighbourhood Centre, 1st Floor, to register the death during the following week.
