Assets of community value

An asset of community value (ACV) is land or property of importance to a local community which has additional protection from development under the Localism Act 2011. More information on Assets of Community Value can be found on the MyCommunity website.

A building or land can be listed as an asset of community value if it:

Is currently being used, or was used in the last five years for activities which improve the social wellbeing and interests of the local community
Will continue to be used for at least the next five years for activities which improve the social wellbeing and interests of the local community.

It could be your local:

Shop
Library
Community centre
Sports centre
Playing field.

A building or land will stay on our Register of Assets of Community Value for five years. We publish this list on this page, along with the list of unsuccessful nominations.
