Age Friendly Employers
In September 2023, Newham was the second local authority in the country to sign up as an Age-Friendly Employer status. Age-Friendly status demonstrates that Newham recognises the importance of and values its older employees and is committed to supporting them flourish in a multigenerational workforce - retaining them and continuing to benefit from their wealth of skills and experience. This will also help Newham to lead by example by encouraging other local employers to apply for Age-Friendly status.
Becoming an Age-Friendly Employer is a journey. By signing the pledge, you are not committing to changing your organisation overnight. You are to take one action (big or small) every year.
