Health and wellbeing in Newham

Community health champions

BSL Support

Community health champions are volunteers who live in Newham and want to make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of Newham residents.

It can be anyone in the community. You might be the person that everyone knows and trusts. You might be someone who wants to help in whatever way you can - even if this is your first time. You can decide if you want to focus on a particular health issue (like obesity or food poverty) or help with all health in general – it’s up to you.

How it works

  • You sign up to be a community health champion.
  • We give you the latest information on health and wellbeing in Newham.
  • You share this information with anyone in your community, however you want.
  • You let us know what is and isn’t working.

Together we can do all we can to make sure that everyone in Newham has the information and support they need to be healthy.
