Safeguarding Adults Week

Thank You for Joining Us – Safeguarding Adults Week 2025

On Wednesday 19 November 2025, Stratford Library welcomed residents, carers, and professionals for Safeguarding Adults Week 2025, a free community event celebrating our shared commitment to creating a safer, more supportive Newham for all adults.

This year’s theme, “Prevention: Act Before Abuse,” shone a light on the importance of early action and community awareness. Together, we explored how every individual—whether a resident, carer, or professional—plays a vital role in building a borough where adults are safe, respected, and empowered to live well.

Services in Attendance
We were proud to be joined by a wide range of local services and partners, including
  • Public Health
  • London Fire Brigade (Bluewatch)
  • Community Safety Team
  • Hestia
  • The Family Hub
  • Change Grow Live
  • Client Affairs Team
  • Women4Women at Positive East

Visitors had the chance to explore stalls, access expert advice, and discover practical resources designed to help prevent harm before it happens. The event highlighted how prevention, partnership, and care remain at the heart of safeguarding in Newham.

Moving Forward Together
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making Safeguarding Adults Week 2025 such a success. Your participation strengthens our collective effort to ensure Newham is a place where adults are supported to live safely and with dignity.
