Damp and Mould Strategy and Action Plan
The Council’s Damp and Mould Strategy and Action Plan was agreed in November 2023. It sets out a council-wide approach to tackling damp and mould – with a caring and non-blaming approach to identifying and treating affected homes. It sets out how we respond to reports of damp and mould and the proactive and long term measures we are taking to prevent damp and mould occurring.
The Strategy has been informed by residents’ experience as well as private landlords, the voluntary sector and other key stakeholders. A public consultation took place in summer 2023 and we are grateful to everyone who took part for their inputs.
The strategy covers Council homes, the private rented sector and temporary accommodation.
