Visitor parking permit costs
You can pay for visitor parking in periods of:
- 6 hours
- 12 hours
- 24 hours
Costs are based on the CO2 emissions of the vehicle.
Check the vehicle V5C (log book) for information on the CO2 emissions of the vehicle.
If the vehicle registration cannot be identified by the UK DVLA, the highest Tier 5 charge will apply.
The table sets out the Visitor permit charges based on duration of permit and the vehicle CO2 emissions.
For vehicles registered:
- before 2001, refer to the engine size
- in 2001 and after, refer to the CO2 emissions
If CO2 information is not stated on the V5C (log book), permit charging will be based on the vehicles engine size.

Hybrid vehicles:
If you have a hybrid vehicle (both electric and fuel-driven), the emissions charge will be based on the CO2 emissions data in the V5C (log book). If this data is missing, charges will be based on the fuel engine size.
Zero Emissions vehicles:
Vehicles with zero emissions will be indicated by the DVLA with a number (e.g., 0) on the log book. If CO2 information is blank, charges will be based on engine size. Check your vehicle V5C (log book) to find out which tier your vehicle falls into.
Foreign vehicles:
If the vehicle is not registered with the DVLA, the MiPermit system will not have access to the vehicle's CO2 emissions and therefore the permit will be charged at the highest tier.
After buying a visitor permit, you can contact MiPermit and provide the vehicle's emission information, you may then be able to receive a refund of the difference in cost, if the vehicle would have been in a lower tier.
Please ensure all details are correct when booking a visitor permit.
Visitor permits cannot be refunded or replaced if unused, cancelled or booked with errors.
