About: Welcome to Forest Gate

Welcome to forest gate

Welcome to Forest Gate improves the public spaces around Forest Gate Youth Zone and the entrance to the town centre, creating a clearer sense of arrival.

The improvements focus on making the area more welcoming,;safer and easier to use. The design brings together new signage, lighting and public space upgrades to strengthen the identity of Forest Gate.

The project was developed through community co-design. Residents and local groups shared ideas on how the space could better reflect the area and support everyday use.

The updated space provides more opportunities for community activity, including events, markets and informal gatherings.
