Lower Lee Valley priority bridges programme

Leaway walk

LBN is collaborating with The Line, a local arts charity, to develop the Leaway Walk. This will include a programme of community engagement, social prescribing walks and school workshops.

In 2021, The Line launched Madge Gill: Nature in Mind – a multi-site exhibition in Newham. This includes a 60m wide digital reproduction of a drawing by Madge Gill, which is installed on the cable bridge at Cody Dock. The Line worked with LBN, LBTH, UK Power Networks, Port of London Authority and Canal & River Trust to secure approval for this. The work is scheduled to be in place for at least two years. Other works that are part of the exhibition are installed along the route of The Line in the Royal Docks, opposite Star Lane Station, at the House Mill and in the Network Rail underpass at the southern entrance to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The Line is working in collaboration with LBN as part of the Levelling Up Fund (LUF) programme to install artwork and public realm works on the Leaway Walk from 2022-2025.
