Colours of Manor Park

Manor Park

The neighbourhood public improvement project aims to deliver ‘creative’ building facade enhancement of the Newham Council owned housing block situated at 1 Station Road / 681-691 Romford Road, London, E12 5AD at the junction of Romford Road. Investing in the appearance of the buildings at this junction was voted for by residents during the development of the Newham High Streets Programme. The project aims to continue engaging with the stakeholders to develop and finalise the design concept. The creative façade enhancement alongside the new murals aims to bring a sense of identity to Manor Park and make the area feel more welcoming. The project has two parts:

  • Part 1 involves works to enhance the look and feel of the façade of 1 Station Road, above Manor Park Library. This aims to create a more welcoming entrance to Manor Park by improving the facade of the corner building.

  • Part 2 involves the installation of one or more murals in the area surrounding 1 Station Road to highlight Manor Park’s local history and celebrate its identity.

Over the course of spring/summer 2023, we have worked with residents to determine the preferred improvement types. The works are expected to finish by June 2024 and will address recommendations in Newham High Streets Report ‘Manor Park Library’ and ‘Colours of Manor Park’. The concept design proposal for the project have been developed through a community co-design process.

Timeline:
