Little Ilford Brighter Alleyways
The Brighter Alleyways programme is a Newham Council initiative to improve well-used alleyways and walking routes across the borough, making them safer, more accessible and more welcoming for residents.
Through targeted upgrades such as improved lighting, resurfacing, clearer wayfinding and creative interventions, the programme enhances everyday journeys and encourages more people to walk and cycle. It also helps reduce anti-social behaviour and supports cleaner, greener neighbourhoods, contributing to the Council’s wider ambitions for healthier, more connected communities.
