Reimagining food in secondary schools
As part of the We Are Food Secure 11-19 project in Newham, we have been examining food provision in secondary schools and how we can work with schools to implement a holistic approach to food culture whilst increasing food security for adolescents.
Funding from The Health Foundation has allowed us to develop a ‘system map’ to unpack some of the influences and drivers of food insecurity for secondary age children.
The project is a partnership between the Public Health Department of the London Borough of Newham, the Association for Young People’s Health, and Cordis Bright.
With stakeholder involvement – we have designed and have been delivering interventions to provide support to Newham secondary schools.
For more information on this project visit the Association for Young People’s Health webpage and see below for work we have published as part of this project.
