​Tuesday, 9.30am - 2pm (including 30 mins lunch time) ​Free English classes for speakers of other languages aged 16 or over. Registration required. Please speak to a member of staff for more information.
English conversation club Monday, 10 - 11am ​Come along to our English conversation club to:
  • increase your confidence speaking English
  • practise speaking with other people from your local area
English class -  Life in the UK B1 and B2 ESOL classes ​Wednesday, 12.30 - 2.30pm and Friday, 10am - 12 noon during term time English and citizenship classes for speakers of other languages aged 16 or over.

You must complete an entry form before starting the course. Speak to library staff.
Film club Saturday, 2pm
​Come and enjoy movies from the past and present along with your family and friends. Every one is welcome.
​Gamers' group Thursday, 1 - 3pm ​Monthly Social club for adults with Asperger Syndrome (AS) and High Functioning Autism (HFA).
​Knit and knatter Wednesday and Friday, 10am - 12midday
Come along to knit and meet new people. All ages welcome. Free.
​Newham Social Walk ​Tuesday and Saturday, 10 - 11am ​Meet at Plaistow library and walk to Plaistow Park. Come back to the library for refreshments. All ages welcome.
​Reading group ​First Thursday of every month, 6.45 - 7.45pm ​​Share your favourite books, discover new writers and enjoy great reads in a relaxed environment.
​Table tennis ​Saturday, 3 - 5pm ​Improve or show off your skills with table tennis in the main library.
​Together we can ​Every Friday, 2 - 4pm ​Social group for adults under 50 who have suffered a stroke. The group provides advice and support.
​UK Wallball ​Friday, 3.15 - 4.15pm ​A fun, social activity involving left to right co-ordination using a ball. Suitable for stroke rehabilitation/survivors. For more information please contact shareen.akhtar@elft.hs.uk
​Yoga Every Thursday​ 6 - 7.45pm and every Saturday 10am - 12 midday ​Relax and learn inner peace with community yoga. Limited spaces available. Please arrive on time. £1 per session.

​Chatterbooks Saturday, 2.30 - 3.30pm A reading group aimed at inspiring young children to read for pleasure. The aim is to develop confidence to talk in a group. It includes fun and creative activities to encourage young children to participate and read in an interactive way.

​Games club Thursday, 3.34 - 5.45pm

Enjoy traditional games, table tennis and Playstation Fifa 16. 
​Chess Thursday, 5 - 6pm​ Develop your skills or learn to play chess for free. All levels are welcome.​
​Homework club Monday, ​3.30 - 5pm ​Free study support at our libraries during school term time for children aged 7 to 12 years old. Term time only.
​Homework club ​Saturday, 10.30am - 12.30pm ​​Free study support and homework help. Ages 7 - 14 years old. Term time only.
​Jiggery Friday, 10 - 11am during term time​ ​Free music and dance session for toddlers.
​Sign and speak Tuesday 10.30 -  11.30 Babies aged 6 to 18 months. Through games, songs and teaching, both you and your baby will use signing to develop communication skills. Run by Plaistow Children’s Centre.
​Singing and storytelling
​Thursday, 2 - 3pm Singing and story time with puppets, instruments and books. Rhymes and songs for everyone to enjoy. Run by Plaistow Children's Centre for under 5s. 
PS 4 Youth Se​ssion ​Monday, 4.30 - 5.30pm A game and discussion group aimed at young people.​
