Library computers and the internet

With a Newham library card, library members can use a computer and access the internet for free in all our libraries.

Computers, scanners and printers

Free computer and internet access is available in all our libraries to library members. All you need is a Newham library card and PIN.
We have an easy to use booking and printing system and staff to help you, if you need it.

Book a computer

You can book up to two hours a day. To book an appointment:
  • use the self service booking station
  • use a library PC you are logged on to or
  • telephone the library.

Make sure you have your library card and PIN to hand.

We have scanners in all our libraries, which you can use to scan and upload documents for online council applications such as parking permits. To use a scanner you will need a Newham library card.

The scanners are not for personal use.


We charge 20 pence for each sheet you print in black and white.


Self-service machines

Borrow, renew, return items

The self-service machines available in our libraries allow you to borrow, return and renew items yourself.

Book drop machines

Our book drop machines at East Ham, Green Street, Stratford, Beckton, Manor Park and The Gate libraries allow you to return books, even when the libraries are closed.

Free WiFi

We offer free WiFi at all our libraries.

You can use it from when the libraries opens. All you need is a Newham library card and PIN.
