Apply for a Trade parking permit

If you are a resident, business or trades person who needs to carry out work at a property located within a Residential Parking Zone (RPZ), you can apply for a Trade parking permit.

This permit will allow the trades person to park on the street close to the address, while they carry out work at the property.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for a Trade permit, you must be either:

  • the resident who lives at the property
  • an employee of the business
  • the property owner or landlord
  • the trades person who needs to carry out the work

Trade permits are not valid for vehicles which exceed 2.3m in height and/or 5.3m in length.

It is solely the responsibility of the person applying for the permit to ensure the vehicle using the permit does not exceed these dimensions.

If the vehicle is found to be larger than these dimensions, the permit will not be valid and will be subject to cancellation. The vehicle may also receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) or be towed.

Cost

  • £2.53 a day
    or
  • £12.65 a week

How to apply

If you apply on a weekday, allow 2 full working days for approval.
If you apply on a weekend, allow at least 3 working days for approval.

What happens next

After you submit your application, it takes 2-3 working days to be processed. You will receive an email confirming if the permit has been approved.

The Trade parking permit is then automatically activated from the date you selected in the application.

Trade parking permits are virtual, you do not need to display a permit on your vehicle.

Trade permits cannot be refunded or amended to different dates or vehicles.

It is the registered keeper's responsibility to ensure the vehicle is covered by a valid permit. Any vehicle breaching a parking or driving rule or parked without a valid permit, may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and possibly be towed.
