Resident Parking Bay Suspensions

To clear or reserve on-street parking bays, you will need to apply for a Parking Bay suspension.

Residents can apply to suspend up to three spaces in permit holder only bays or shared use bays in your Residential Parking Zone (RPZ).

Applications may be considered for:

  • Weddings
  • Business or domestic removals
  • Building works
  • Tree works

Disabled parking bays will only be suspended if it is absolutely necessary or if emergency maintenance works need to be undertaken.
 

Costs

£23 per bay, each day.
Plus a £25 administration fee.
 

How to apply

Applications should be made a minimum of 10 working days before the date the suspension is required.

Applications submitted with less than 10 working days’ notice may be rejected.

You will need:

  • a map of the location with the bay(s) to be suspended clearly marked
  • the address of parking bays to be suspended
  • a written statement describing the precise location and explanation of the reasons why you require the parking bays to be suspended
  • payment card details (Visa or MasterCard debit or credit cards).


You can apply for a parking bay suspension on MiPermit.

  1. Visit MiPermit website.
  2. Go to 'Buy Digital Permits'.
  3. Select 'Resident Suspension Application'.
  4. Complete application form and upload documents.

What happens next

You will receive an email confirming your application submission.
Requests will be processed in approximately 2-3 working days.

While the application is being processed, the payment amount is placed on hold on the card details provided in the application.

You will receive a second email with the outcome of your application.

If your application is approved, the payment is taken using the card details provided.
If it is rejected, the payment on hold is released.

Cancelling or changing an application
You can cancel your application up to 5 days before the suspension is due to start, however we cannot refund the administration fee.

If you change your application, you may need to pay an additional £25 administration fee.
