Request to park on yellow lines (Parking Dispensation)

A Parking Dispensation allows you to wait or load on a single or double yellow line for over 40 minutes and during restricted hours.

Parking Dispensations can be valid from one to three days.

Eligibility

You can apply if:

  • you need to carry out specific work in an area
  • you need to be as close as possible to a premises for loading/unloading goods and material
  • no other parking is available nearby.
     

Cost

a) 1 day (£50)
b) 2 days (£100)
c) 3 days (£150)

Charges are per location. One location covers a single road.

Separate applications are required for different streets.

If Parking Dispensation is required for longer than 3 days, you may need to apply for a road closure.
 

How to apply

Applications should be made a minimum of 10 working days before the date the dispensation is required.

You need to include:

  • the precise location including street, postcode, door numbers (for example John Street, E15, outside house numbers 24-26)
  • how often the location will be visited
  • why the loading / unloading cannot be undertaken outside of the restricted hours.
     

What happens next

It takes up to 10 working days to process your application.
You will be sent a confirmation email with the outcome of your application.

If approved, you will be sent an invoice for the total cost, which will be payable by bank transfer.

Once paid, the parking dispensation will be arranged.

Any vehicle breaching a parking or driving rule or parked without a valid permit, may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and possibly be towed.
