Parking permit zones

A Residential Parking Zone (RPZ) is an area where parking is controlled to make it easier for residents, businesses and visitors to access parking spaces near their homes. 
 

RPZ locations and boundaries

Newham addresses are divided in to parking zones.

Each zone has times when only permit holders are allowed to park in the permit holder only parking spaces.

Check the map for which zone a specific street is in and also the days and times that only permit holders are allowed to park.

How to park in a Residential Parking Zone

If you live in an RPZ
You can apply for a Resident parking permit.
A Resident permit allows you to park at any time:

• in permit holder only bays in the zone where you live
• in shared use bays in the zone where you live (permit holders and paid for parking)

If your business is located in a RPZ:
You can apply for a Business or Charity Business parking permit.

If you do not have a parking permit:
Parking is available throughout the borough in car parks and on-street parking spaces.

Before you leave your vehicle parked, check:

• the parking signs and lines for times when a permit is required
• you are not parked in a specific bay that you do not have a permit for i.e. car club bay, doctors bay, disabled bay
• there is no temporary change in the parking rules, such as due to an event day.

Any vehicle breaching a parking or driving rule or parked without a valid permit, may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and possibly be towed.
 

Event Days

When events are held at the Olympic Park or London Stadium, the hours of when only permit holders are allowed to park in some RPZs are extended to 8am-9pm.

This only applies to the following zones:

• Stratford Central
• Stratford North West
• Stratford South West
• Stratford South East
• West Ham
