Inspector’s Report
On 18 August 2026, the Council received the Inspector’s Report on the Newham Local Plan, marking the conclusion of the independent examination of the Plan.
The Inspector, William Fieldhouse BA (Hons) MA MRTPI, concluded that the Newham Local Plan is legally compliant and sound, subject to a number of Main Modifications. The Main Modifications that the Inspector considers necessary to make the Plan sound are set out in Appendix 1 of the report.

The Local Plan will now be considered for formal adoption by Full Council in due course.
