Over The Tracks
Over the Tracks is a meanwhile use project which will create space for community activities and food growing on unused land over the Crossrail tracks in North Woolwich.
The Council is working with RDLAC (Royal Docks Learning and Activity Centre), the local community centre to create facilities that will support the centre’s projects including the local food bank.
As part of this project, residents and students from Newham Colleges and University of East London took part in engagements workshops to help shape the community space and the future of North Woolwich.
The students have recently completed a two-week co-production project where they design and build structures using sugarcrete which is a building material created from waste materials from the local Tate and Lyle factory route.
