New canopies at Queen's Market

The Council are improving the Queen’s Market and surrounding spaces. The £6.5 million improvements programme is funded by Newham Council with support from the Mayor of London, Department for Homes Levelling Up and Communities and co-designed with the community. A better and greener Queen's Square, supporting social interaction and future events has been delivered in September 2023. Improvement to the ceiling of Queen's Market, new public toilets, and new canopies at the front of the market were completed in June 2025. Construction works to deliver new community spaces, library, and workspaces are progressing on site now, with expected completion in spring 2026. Further improvements to the lighting are planned for early 2026.
