Things we can collect
All items must be empty before collection. For example, linen baskets, cabinets, and dishwashers must not contain any other items or waste. Items that are full or contain additional waste will not be collected. Fabric items and carpets must be covered to prevent them from getting wet before collection, as waterlogged items cannot be collected. Any dismantled items must be securely tied together.
- BBQs – Must be cleared of all charcoal and ash.
- Armchairs / sofa / sofa bed – We do not collect metal base armchairs / sofa recliners.

- Black Sack – quantity check only 4 bags to 1 booking. The refuse sacks must be securely tied and not split. You must describe the contents in each sack. Please note that garden waste will not be collected using this service and must be booked under Green Waste Collections.

If your item is not listed above and is in a usable condition, you can help your community and the environment by donating items to charity to be re-used. Many charities offer free collections of these items, and some will even collect the items from inside the building.
Alternatively, consider giving items away on online marketplaces like Freecycle.
If your item is not in a usable condition and you have access to a car, you can take it to Jenkins Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre free of charge.
