Determined Admission Arrangements for entry from September 2026
How school places are offered
If more children apply to a school than there are places, the school’s admission authority must follow its official rules to decide who gets a place. An admission authority is the specific body responsible for setting a school's admissions policy.
These rules are written down each year in a document called the determined arrangements.
The rules include something called oversubscription criteria. These are used to help decide which children are offered a place when there aren’t enough spaces for everyone applying.
The London Borough of Newham (PDF) has a set of these rules.
These rules apply to all council-run secondary schools in Newham. Most academy secondary schools in Newham also use them, but the schools below have different arrangements.
