Power cut at Canning Town Library Canning Town Library has been affected by a power cut in the local area and is currently closed - we will extend book return due dates by one week in case you cannot return items at an alternative library.
Essential maintenance this weekend to our Council Tax & Housing Benefit system​Council Tax Account Balances and Housing Benefit information will be unavailable via MyNewham on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November 2017. Customers may find certain online forms will not function during this time. 

Customers can still make payments, but online account balances will not be updated until Monday 27 November 2017. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.​

Search the library catalogue, reserve items and renew the ones at a time and place that suits you.

Go online

With an library card and PIN you can:

  • search for items including books, DVDs, CDs and talking books
  • reserve items and choose which library you would like to collect them from
  • renew your loans up to five times
  • find out what you have borrowed in the past
  • check what items you have on loan

on any computer, tablet or smartphone. If you do not know your PIN, call or drop in at your local library.

Note, if you are a Newham resident with a Newham library card, it is free to reserve library items.

Call our 24-hour automated line 03333 704700 to renew and reserve items. Make sure you have your library card number handy.
 
 

At a library

You can also renew your items and reserve new ones at your local library, as long as you bring your library card with you.
